Walks
Lake Daylesford
About 3.6km round, an easy stroll around the picturesque lake just a 10 minute walk from Greenleaf. You’ll want to wake up early and go for a morning stroll to Walters by the carpark to grab a coffee to sip on for your walk.
Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens
A lovely stroll around the gardens is a must. Some of the trees here are hundreds of years old and seemingly untouched by time. It is truly a beautiful and relaxing outing for your day.
Tipperary Walking Track
Trace the route of the old water races cut by miners last century. Easy stroll of about 2.5km.
Hanging Rock Trail
Hanging Rock, 139 South Rock Rd, Newham
2km considered ‘moderate’ in difficulty. A really interesting walk and rumoured to be the haunt of bushranger ‘Mad Dog’ Morgan. Made famous by the classic Australian novel ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’. The rock is mysterious and beautiful. The summit is a must see at 105 metres viewing the surrounded plain and farmland along with the thick forest of the Macedon and Cobaw ranges.
Sanatorium Lake Eco-Trail
Mount Macedon Regional Park, Lions Head Rd, Mount Macedon
2.8km long and an easy stroll for the family. Loops around the beautiful lake with a huge variety of trees and wildlife.
The Goldfields Track
210km long, this track runs all the way from Mt Buninyong to Bendigo through the incredible lands that used to be so full of gold it made Melbourne the wealthiest city in the world! It includes the Lake Daylesford walk as well as Tipperary Springs. You can pick a section, big or small, and go for a wide or hike. Definitely recommend you start this prepared with food and water if you're up for the adventure.
Three Lost Children’s Walking Track
15km long and a grade 3 difficulty. The hike is about 6 hours long in total starting at Memorial Reserve and ending at Wombat Creek Picnic Area. Start prepared with food and water for this beautiful walk.
